In August, 2017, several local Baha'is will host a new Conversations on Racial Healing series in Rocklin, CA, offered through the Rocklin Parks & Recreation Department.
Conversations on Racial Healing is a series of nine weekly meetings to learn about and to discuss racism and racial bias. The program is designed to provide information on multiple topics related to race relations and to offer a safe place to share personal experiences regarding racism, with the intention of developing friendships and becoming allies of people of color.
Explore your own experiences of racism or prejudice in a supportive, non-confrontational environment. Unlearn the out-of-date stereotypes that still affect our words and behavior so that we can all share the richness of the diversity in our community.
The series will run from Wednesday, August 30 to October 25, 7:00-8:30 pm, in Room 102 of the Rocklin Event Center. Click here for our flyer.
To register for the series, call the City at 916-625-5200 or go to: http://www.rocklin.ca.us/classes-and-programs. The Course Code is: 15401
Everyone is Welcome!
The series materials came from the Baha'i-inspired workshops of the Institutes for the Healing of Racism. Baha'is and members of the public are most welcome to participate! We hope to learn and share experiences with people from many backgrounds.
