"SELMA" Film and Race Unity Discussion - Join Us!

Location

Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of Rocklin
PO Box 1982
Rocklin, CA

"Let them look not upon a man's colour but upon his heart. If the heart be filled with light, that man is nigh unto the threshold of his Lord; but if not, that man is careless of his Lord, be he white or be he black."
~ Abdu'l-Baha, Selections from the Writings of Abdu'l-Baha, p. 113

Several Baha'is from around Placer County invite you to join us to watch the film "SELMA" together and to meet after the screening to talk about the film in the spirit of race unity and reconciliation, as part of the#SELMAHANDINHAND initiative.

SELMA tells the story of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and the march from Selma to Montgomery, and how people from all walks of life – black and white; young and old; Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox; Christian, Muslim and Jewish – came together to end Jim Crow.

On the weekend of January 9th, 2015, Baha'is and religious congregations around the country will purchase tickets and watch the groundbreaking film SELMA together – across racial, ethnic and religious lines, and then have a brief discussion about reconciliation in theaters after the film.

We'll be meeting at the Studio Movie Grill this Sunday, January 11, at 4 pm, then gathering for a light meal at Noodles & Company (in the same shopping center).
