On October 21, 2017, many Baha'is from Rocklin, Granite Bay and Loomis celebrated the Birth of the Bab at the Baha'i Reading Room in Penryn.
The Bab (which means Gate) is the Messenger from God who preceded Baha'u'llah in 1844 and prepared the people of His native Persia for the coming of the Promised One of all ages -- Baha'u'llah. He taught people to cleanse their hearts of earthly concerns so that they could recognize the next divinely inspired Educator. The Bab's primary purpose was to awaken the people to the fact that a new period in human history had begun, one which would witness the unification of the entire human race and the emergence of a world civilization of spiritual and material prosperity.
